Bon Appétit is an American food and entertaining magazine published monthly. It was started by M. Frank Jones in Kansas City in 1956 and has enjoyed a long history as one of the most preeminent gourmet food magazines in publication. Over the last decade the Bon Appétit brand has changed to reflect a more social landscape “where food and culture meet”. As a result of this shift the brand voice took on a different tone as well, one that inspired to educate readers about food (and the possibilities that awaited them in the kitchen) but do it in a more playful and inviting way. The banner ads shown below played into this theme and were created as part of the larger “information is a delicacy” campaign and appeared in early 2012.
